# Smart 145 Knowledge Base auth.md

Authentication and registration guidance for AI agents that use https://knowledgebase.smart145.com.

## Audience

AI agents and automated clients that read the public Smart 145 knowledge base.

## Registration

No registration is necessary. There are no agent accounts and no self-service credential issuance.

## Anonymous access

These endpoints accept anonymous requests. Do not send a credential.

- `GET /` and `GET /{topic}/{slug}` — browse articles. Send `Accept: text/markdown` to get markdown.
- `GET /search?q={query}` — full-text search (HTML results).
- `POST /api/v1/chat/send` — AI-assisted answer grounded in published articles.

All endpoints are rate limited. Read the `RateLimit-*` response headers and back off on HTTP 429.

## Operator-only endpoint

`GET|POST /api/v1/cache/clear` requires a static bearer token (`Authorization: Bearer <token>`). The token is held by Smart 145 operators. It is not issued to agents and there is no way to request it.

## OAuth metadata

- Protected Resource Metadata (RFC 9728): https://knowledgebase.smart145.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource
- `authorization_servers` is empty. This host is not an OAuth issuer and publishes no authorization server metadata.
